Layton 2 1/2 years

Layton is 2 1/2 years old. She is so, so busy these days. She talks non stop and says the funniest things. She can say anything but sometimes isn't very easily to understand. There are even times when I can't understand her but all I have to say is show me and she does. She brings a whole new meaning to the word independent. She is so sweet and tells me at least 10 times a day that she loves me. She loves God and now can say her prayers by herself. She loves going to church. She has been sitting in "big church" with us for about a month and does really good at being quiet. Today was the first day EVER that she didn't have a nap and she made it until 8:30! She and Lydia still sleep together every night. They start out far away from each other but are snuggled up tight when they are asleep. That is probably the only time she isn't driving Lydia crazy these days. She loves to pick on Lydia! She loves going places, one of the first things she asks in the mornings is "where we goin today". She enjoys being around lots of people, she is a little social-bug. She LOVES animals, especially cats. Our dog Reece is one of her best friends. She loves all your attention and is a daddy's girl. She won't hardly sit still in my lap but she will her daddy's. She has him wrapped very tightly around her finger! She never accepts no for an answer, she needs an explanation for everything. She wears me out every day but I love every minute of it. I absolutely love this age and I love this little girl more and more with each passing day and am feel so blessed that God allowed me to be her mama.

Last year.

At 6 months.

Little Sisters Club!

This is what the little sisters do while their big sisters are playing ball! Lydia has a basketball game every Saturday at 12. Thankfully we have lots of friends there with little sisters! I think Layton looks forward to seeing these girls on Saturday mornings!

Flip Flop Sunday

Yesterday was a "flip flop" kind of Sunday, in case you didn't know!! The weather is the coldest it's been all year but my sweet girl finally found her flip flops that we had been hiding since the Fall. If you know her, you know that she was infatutated with flip flops this summer. It didn't matter if they were hers, mine or Lydia's, she wore them EVERY day. I didn't care much because I am a "pick my battle" kind of mama. But when the cooler temperatures came, she and I went round and round about her wearing flip flops. Finally one day, I just put them up high in the closet, so that she wouldn't see them. That worked until this past Saturday night...she seen them, climbed up on the shelf and got them down. She was so happy to have found her "fip fops". So yesterday morning as we were getting ready for church, she came to me and asked if she looked pretty, with her flip flops on, I just looked at her and said YES. So off we went to church - with flip flops! Thankfully she didn't mind wearing her leggings with them!! Of course, everyone at church told her how pretty her flip flops were.

Pretty girls!

And because we can't take a serious, smiling, normal picture without a silly face!

This and That!

Guess what happened while washing dishes a couple of weeks ago...Lay Lay jumped in. When I say jumped in, I literally mean jumped in. I was so tired this particular night, I didn't have a fight in me. I told her to hop out and let me finish my dishes and then I would give her a bath in the sink.

She is the BUSIEST little girl I have ever known. She gets faster with every passing day. I'm not complaining though, I wouldn't take anything for her. She is full of personality. She tells me at least 10 times a day that she "oves me sooooooo much".

We celebrated Daddy's birthday last week. He turned 37. The girls and I bought him a new pair of boots. I feel so blessed to have Dave. He is the best husband and an even better father. He is everything we need and would ever want.

While walking through the hallway yesterday I noticed a new sign on Lydia's door. I don't know what exactly prompted this new sign but Layton didn't abide very well but being the good sister Lydia is, she didn't fuss about it!
