Snow Day

1st snow of 2010!

When Dave and I woke up this morning it was sleeting then it turned to snow. When Lydia finally got up at 11:00, she was very surprised to see all the snow. She went out for a minute but not for long. We ate lunch and then made snow cream.

Layton has spent much of her day in the walker. She loves it. She can't move much but she is getting the hang of it.

Then we decided to go back outside. Sorry Layton you can't go outside! Maybe tomorrow when daddy is home with us.

5 Months Old

Layton is 5 months old today. What are you up to these days:

*You are still in size 2 diapers.

*You are wearing 3-6 months clothes but they are beginning to get too short for you.

*You are eating all different kinds of baby food. Your favorites are the orange vegetables. Your least favorite is peaches. You will NOT eat peaches. You have also started recognizing that we are eating. You are very interested in our food too!

*You are in love with your daddy! When he talks to you, you just melt. I think you are going to be a daddy's girl.

*You can spin around in your exersaucer now.

*You love to be on the floor so that you can move all around. You have started scooting around on your back.

*You love to splash in the tub.

*You are still sleeping all night. You go to bed around 8:30 and I wake you in the mornings around 7:00. You are so happy in the mornings.

*You are still a VERY happy baby.

I am still amazed and very grateful that you are so happy. You are constantly smiling and now laughing with us. We are enjoying you more and more each day. I love you very much Lay Lay!

Momma's Helper

Layton loves being fed by Lydia. She smiles the whole time and Lydia talks, or sings, the whole time.

What would I do without her!!

Lydia is playing basketball.

So, we decided to sign Lydia up for church basketball. After several weeks of practicing she decided she wanted to play. They are all so cute out there, running around. I would say there might be one or two of the kids that know what they are doing but the others are just out there having fun. The first game Lydia ran around the court trying to get away from the little boy guarding her!

Layton hiding!

Last night I put Layton in the floor to play. She moves all over the floor now. When I looked up she was under the table. I would call her name and she would just laugh. Then I got on the other side of the table and talked to her. She would just smile and laugh. She enjoyed our little game.

Happy Birthday Lydia

Tomorrow my sweet Lydia will turn 5 years old. I just cannot believe it. She is growing up so fast. Dave and I have been reminiscing with her all week about the night she was born. She was born on a Monday night at 6:22. A ton of family was at the hospital waiting on her with us. After being in active labor for about 5 hours, she was born. Dave and I cried like babies as we stared into her eyes. We thought she was the most beautiful baby we had ever seen. We were so scared but she made it easy for us. She was the best baby, she was very easy going. I cannot remember what we did before we had her. She makes us laugh everyday. I love that she is so much like Dave but yet so much like me too. She is very loving and caring. She constantly tells us that she loves us and loves her little sister more than I could have imagined. I feel so lucky to be her mom.

Today was her party. She wanted a Sweet n Sassy party. I told her she could pick 3 friends. She decided on Jade, Keaton and Riley. I asked Annie and Kathryn to go with me for the extra help. After eating pizza at Cici's we had birthday cake. Miss Darlene made the cake again this year. It was pink and purple with real makeup on it, Lydia loved it. Then it was time for the makeovers. They started with their hair, then nails and finally makeup. There were not many other girls in the store so Lydia and her friends were able to walk the runway as many times as they wanted. They had a blast. After an hour and a half, it was time to go. As we were walking out of the store, we seen a lady dressed as Snow White. Of course we had their picture taken with her! Overall it was a really fun day. Jade was quite and shy, Keaton asked many questions, Riley talked from the time we picked her up until the time we dropped her off. And Lydia enjoyed being in the spotlight for the day! Lydia told me tonight that it was the best birthday party ever, that's always a good sign!

Christmas 2009

We had a wonderful Christmas this year. It all started with Christmas at Dave's parents Christmas Eve afternoon. After a wonderful meal in the dark due to the electricity being out, we all opened a ton of presents. They always get us way too much but it is so fun seeing what all everyone gets. Dave got jeep parts and clothes. Lydia got a jewelry box and an American girl doll. Layton got lots of clothes and toys. And I got a storm door and clothes.

After Mawmaw & Pawpaw's we went to Mimi & Papa's. There the adults played Dirty Santa and the kids received many more gifts. Little Justin loved on Layton all night!

After Mimi's we came home and opened presents with Daddy, Debi, Ethan and Dillon.
The next morning we woke to lots of surprises from Santa. Daddy got a the tv he wanted! I got an new watch and Wi game. Lydia had a princess canopy over her bed and camera waiting for her in the living room. And Layton got a new exersaucer.

For lunch we went over to Dave's aunt Grace's and then for dinner all the Primo's came over for finger foods and the dirty santa game. We had a ton of fun and relaxation. It was so nice having everyone here.

The day after Christmas Dave had to work and the girls and I slept until 10:00. Nannie took Lydia to see Alvin & the Chipmunks while Layton and I cleaned the house. The week after Christmas Shannon and Erin came home so we had Christmas at Nannie and Langraddy's.
