Flowers, Baby and lots of MUD!

One of my favorite flowers is an iris. They have been in bloom the last several weeks, this one was taller than Layton.
A couple of weeks ago, Dave bought a new beagle dog for rabbit hunting. The dog's pervious owner had spoiled her rotten. He hunted her but she stayed in the house with him. He recently died and his son sold her. This is where my husband came in, he bought her. When my girls seen her (and maybe me too!) they feel in love with her! Her name is Baby and she is really sweet, except to Reece! Never say never because I have said a million times that we would not have another dog in the house! Well, we have another dog in the house! I will admit it was pretty easy to say yes because she is already housebroken and she is really sweet natured.
Since it was so hot outside this weekend, I sprayed the girls with the water hose and of course that led to playing in the mud. Layton was really confused at first about getting her panties wet but once we explained that it was ok, she had lots of fun. They were both very muddy. Layton came up and told me that Lydia squirted her so hard it made her panties fall off! We are definitely ready for the summer days ahead!

Annie took this picture of Layton the other night, I love it!

Project Gymset DONE!

This is what we have been working on for a few weeks.

An idea of "let's get the girls a nice gymset turned into a big project for us, mostly daddy! My main job was to keep the girls from asking the question "are you done yet, daddy"!! I was successful, I don't think they asked him one time. First, we had to level a spot in the yard. Next, tear our back fence out. Third, prepare an area for the gymset. Obviously putting the set together was the hardest part and the most time consuming but thanks to the greatest daddy in the world...it's done! And there are no better benefits than seeing them have loads of fun on it. I have dreamed of them having a play area in the yard that is all theirs and now they have that!

We were still working on part of it but she couldn't wait to try the slide out. The "flide" is her favorite part!

Apparently this is what big girls do on the monkey bars!

Fun times!

I love this picture, you can see the excitement on her little face (and her very dirty knees)!

An unexpected visitor showed up but was greeted by Layton! She would play then go and rub him, she said he was nice!

Celebrating Easter 2012

We had a wonderful Easter weekend this year! The girls started off Friday afternoon with the egg hunt at our church. Mamaw took the girls to the hunt for me since I had to work. Friday night we died eggs at home. Jade even came over to help us! I'll be honest and admit that I dreaded this part, simply because Layton is so young and SO very busy but we did it...only one egg got cracked and two cups spilled! Thankfully I was smart enough to put towels down!

Looks like Jade needs some of Layton's smile!

Busy little girls!

OOPS!

This was our first time making majestic eggs. They were very pretty and less messy.

Saturday we went to an Easter carnival at my aunts church. We met aunt Amy and baby Jaxson. Their church is very large so it's always a big event. They had it all: bounce houses, egg hunts, cake walks, balloon animals, train rides. Since we were going to be walking around all day, I didn't take my camera, so no pictures but we had lots of fun. Layton has always been afraid of a bounce house. It is something about going through the door that scares her. I'm not sure what changed but she got in her first bounce house Saturday. She loved it, she giggled and jumped until she couldn't giggle and jump anymore! I loved it. We had so much fun, I'm so glad that we were able to go.

Sunday morning we woke up to Lydia dragging her easter basket into our room at 730! This was the first time she has ever woke us up on Easter morning. We always have to wake her to show her what the Easter bunny brought. She received the basket she wanted, a princess basket, which included lots of dress up items and a tea set. Layton got a new Minnie Mouse chair to sit in outside and a movie. She didn't really know what to think. I made a "mom fail" because I didn't take any pictures of the girls with their baskets. After getting ready we headed to church for a wonderful Easter service, celebrating our Risen Savior. I had the nursery but everyone bragged on our choir and how well they did in the Easter Cantata. I wished I could have seen it but I had lots of sweet babies in the back to keep me occupied! After church we headed to Annie's house for lunch and an egg hunt. After lunch the hunt was on...we all had fun hunting, even the adults!

Lydia had been looking for eggs while she was eating, so as soon as we said go, she was on a mission!

Layton wanted to open each egg after finding it to see what was inside!

My handsome husband enjoying the egg hunt!

Ali found the prize egg!

Mamaw and Papaw with all the great grandkids.

Our family with Nanny and Langraddy.

My Sugarbear!

The girls and baby Jaxson.

Not too bad considering we bribed Layton with candy!

I love these little girls more than they will ever know.

I'm so grateful for my Risen Saviour who died for my sins, a wonderful church to worship his name, two pretty little girls and a wonderful husband, and great family to spend the beautiful day with! Hope you all had a Happy Easter as well!

Llama, llama red pajama

Lydia recently had a book project. She had to pick a book and make a project to represent it. She picked the book, "Llama, llama red pajama". I helped her with her box but she did everything else by herself. She was very excited about presenting it to her class.

She made a perfect score! Go Lydia!!

Layton's shoes

The other morning as we were getting ready for work/school/babysitter, I told Layton to go get her shoes on. If you know anything about Layton, it's that she LOVES shoes. She is a shoe fanatic. She is constantly putting on shoes. She has always been that way. I foresee lots of shoe buying in her future. So, she comes back in the kitchen with these on...

Two different shoes! Of course after I tell her that she can't wear two different shoes, she wants an explanation. She was too cute not to take a picture! While I was taking the first picture, Lydia tries to get in the picture, which makes Layton mad. The second picture = them making up! :)
