We had a great weekend last weekend. The weather was gorgeous but Dave woke up Monday morning feeling aweful, after a trip to the doctor he was diagnosed with the flu. Uggg. So Monday and Tuesday he stayed isolated in our bedroom, the kids didn't even see him. Wednesday he started feeling better and was able to join us again! Wednesday night when it was bath time I realized Lydia was running fever. She woke up around 3:30 the next morning with a very sore throat. So off to Memphis for another doctor visit. Her strep test come back positive, so I requested that we get a shot so that she would feel better quicker. She does not remember ever getting a shot, so she immediately starting freaking out. I thought she would be okay and calm down, umm no she didn't. She started SCREAMING as soon as the nurse came into the room. I think she might have had a mild panic attack! When the nurse said she was done, Lydia realized she didn't even feel it. Of course now she is telling me that it was the worse pain she has ever experienced!
(Break for a minute.....)For anyone who knew Lydia when she was little, they will remember that she LOVED her passy. She sucked it all the time. We always had it, never went anywhere without it. Sometimes (like in the picture below) she would have two or three at a time. (Okay now back to story!)
Well after she received her shot I was holding her and she was crying very dramatically. I realized that I had one of Layton's passy's in my pocket. So I asked her if she wanted Layton's passy, she look at me for a second (not crying) and she yeah! I couldn't believe it! I told her I was just kidding and of course she started crying again. Poor Lydia, I guess once a lover always a lover! After about ten minutes we were able to go. She limped out of the office and finally asked if I would pick her up because her leg was 'killing her'. After about 30 mintues she did admit that it didn't hurt anymore but at bath time last night, it was hurting really bad again. So bad that she had to have another band-aid on it.
Dave and Lydia were both feeling better this morning. Dave was up at 6 am dancing for me and Lydia got to stay at home with Dave today, which she was very happy about.

"Someone fired the park."
From the time Lydia was little she has referred to burning something as "firing it". We have tried to tell the correct way of saying it but she always resorts back to her way of saying it. Well, last week someone set one of our local parks on fire and it burnt. The park has always been one of her favorite places. She referred to this park as 'Nanny's park' or 'Daddy's park'. I told her about it the next morning. She asked several questions, to which I did not have answers for. When we walked into Miss Darlene's that morning Lydia said' "Someone fired Nanny's and daddy's park"! It sounded so strange Miss Darlene had to ask what she was talking about. Friday on the way to her ballgame we rode through the park. It was very sad to see the devastation. And in Lydia fashion she pointed out that the tire swing was still hanging. She is such an optimistic person, I think she gets that from her daddy.

Layton 6 Months
I love this baby.
She is already 6 months old. Some days I can't remember life without her. She continues to be such a pleasant baby. She is always smiling. She is really developed over the last month. She watches everything so intently.
What are you up to sweet girl:
*You weigh 17 pounds and are 26 1/2 inches long.
*You are now wearing a size 3 diaper.
*You are in 6-9 month clothes.
*You are still a good eater. We have introduced some table food but you are not really interested right now.
*You have really been practicing your grabbing skills over the last month and are now very successful at it!
*You are still a very happy baby. Although you are experiencing some separation anxiety when momma leaves!
*For the most part, you are sitting. You still need some support. You love sitting in the sink and looking in the mirrors!
*You are now rolling on your tummy and propping up on your arms. You get very excited when you do this.
*You still LOVE your big sister.
*You are starting to put everything in your mouth.
*You have been a little fussy the last couple of days, I think you might be teething.
*You are still sleeping through the night.
She is so proud of herself!
She can even chew on her toes.
Her new best friend!

Germs, germs go away...
I am so glad this week is over. We have been submerged in germs at our house. Dave started out last week with sinus junk, then last Friday Lydia and I had the stomach virus that lasted longer than I anticipated. And on Saturday Layton started getting snotty. After Layton screaming all night Tuesday night, Dave took her to the doctor on Wednesday. She has an ear infection and RSV. Fortunately her RSV is not bad. Yesterday I think everyone turned the corner and we are all starting to feel our old selves again. Warm weather please hurry, we are ready for the pool!

Snow Days Again!
Wow, snow again. Monday morning we woke up & the ground was covered with about 3 inches of snow. Then later in the day we received about 6 more inches. It is so pretty. Lydia was very excited. Dave and her played a little yesterday and she and I played some today. We build a snow woman and Lydia named her princess Pea!
I did try to make it to work this morning but we couldn't make it onto Miss Darlene's road so we drove back home. It is probably good we are home, Layton has a very runny nose and she has slept a lot today. Lydia has enjoyed playing dress up. We even enjoyed a nice visit from Annie and Kathryn.
